About

Below is a recount from Liliana Parmeggiani's story.  Liliana is a great-granddaughter of Joseph.

Dear cousin Frank,
I am Liliana, Ivana Dolia's daughter and Milly's sister.
I had great pleasure in having news about you all; it's a sin
I wasn't in Trieste the day you were at Milly's but I hope
we.'ll meet one day!
I'm sorry that we didn't know about you when my mother was
still alive: she would be really happy to meet you, I know!
When I was a child my mother used to tell me that an uncle of
hers lived in America and that she had a lot of cousins over
there, but she didn' t know anything else about them.
She also used to tell me about her grandfather Josef, my
great-grand:father; there was deep affection between them, he
told her a lot of things and,he loved to play with his little
granddaughter. My mother used to tell me he was always
well-dressed ·and wore a top hat. She said he spoke many
languages and traveled a lot for business since he dealt
in silkworms.
